BUILT TO LAST
Style that transcends time and fashion
I had hastily written off hoop earrings for so long. Truly a classic jewelry piece anyone can buy (click to read more about three great pairs I found starting at $60), I’m doing my best to make up for lost time!
BUILT TO LAST Style that transcends time and fashion For the longest time, I used to associate the word “chic” with simplicity and Audrey Hepburn. I’d picture the elegant actress wearing a crisp white shirt and skinny black pants. But when I lived in Italy some years ago, the word suddenly took on a new meaning. One day I came across this…

BUILT TO LAST Style that transcends time and fashion When I was in Italy some years ago, I bought this classic brown leather jacket from a small store off a side street in Florence. At the time, I thought it was one of the “coolest” things I had ever purchased. Little did I know how much of an impact it would have on my wardrobe.

BUILT TO LAST Style that transcends time and fashion In a memorable episode of Sex and the City, actress Kim Cattrall’s character, Samantha Jones, vows to purchase an authentic Hermés Birkin bag within a week–a nearly impossible task as she soon discovers. Still determined, she says, “When I have my Birkin, I’ll know I’ve made it.”
BUILT TO LAST Style that transcends time and fashion Every birthday or holiday, I hold my breath and hope that today is the day when my grandmother will finally decide to give me one of her many Chanel chain bags. Her large collection is both wonderful and unnerving, especially when you learn that she never wears them. Which is a shame for two reasons…
BUILT TO LAST Style that transcends time and fashion Did you know that soldiers were wearing Burberry trench coats long before movie stars, like Harry Potter’s Emma Watson, made them fashionable? Though this iconic garment has been written about extensively in nearly every fashion publication, many fail to mention the back-story that makes this simple article of clothing so special.
