Two of our good friends, designer Josie Natori and actor/director Tony Goldwyn, helped us host an intimate event to celebrate heirlooms. We invited about 20 fashion, beauty, and lifestyle bloggers to join us at the Town & Country-decorated townhouse at Soho Mews, where each guest received a vintage postcard (some a century old!) upon arriving.
Remembering the postcards from my family's travels as well as to the great tradition of mailing thoughtful notes to loved ones (read Russ Hardin's story and you'll be inspired to pen a friend, I swear), we came up with this fun activity to write yourself a note about your special heirloom. At the end of the evening, we collected all the postcards so we could send them back to our guests the good old-fashioned way: by the U.S. Postal Service.
We were so happy our postcard party was a big hit (see the images and read about our guests' heirlooms on our bulletin board below). It was not only a great icebreaker ("So what's your heirloom?" was the phrase of the evening!), but also it served as a testament to the universality of our mission: To capture, celebrate and share our best memories, heirlooms, and family traditions.
